Hello, I’m Jaedyn Chang, a senior computer science major at UC Irvine who is interested in machine learning, software engineering, and data science. I’m currently an SWE Intern at Intuit.

1. How did you land your current internship?

I found my current internship through a club event that Intuit had with WICS. I spent around 15 hours preparing for the interviews. There were 4 rounds of interviews lasting 4 months before I received the offer.

2. What has been the biggest challenge in your career?

My biggest challenge was navigating the industry since I didn't have any previous knowledge (I didn't even know what an internship was!). Because of that, I had to figure out a lot of it by making mistakes the first time around.

3. What advice would you give to students who want to succeed in their careers?

My biggest tip is don't be afraid to try - whether that's reaching out, applying for a job that you don't think you're qualified for, etc. There are a lot of obstacles to overcome, but don't let yourself be one of them.
