CAPTAIN’S LOG 🚢

we haven’t seen you in forever!
A’hoy crew! This is your Captain speaking 📣
We have so much to tell you!
2025 is here and it’s making waves. Not sure if you’ve felt a change in the winds. Some kind of energy. More and more people are feeling ready to step out, explore new things, and maybe have a little more fun.
We’ve got a ton of things planned for you friends. We’re thinking cool places, maybe some you haven’t been to before. Some mystery things and some surprise things. Definitely lots of laughs. New faces that if we’re lucky, become old faces, and more people to grow and learn from.
What is Intern Ship?
Alright, picture this: Intern Ship is like that awesome friend who always drags you out for a fun adventure—except here, the adventures are all about meeting cool people, exploring your city, and even taking care of yourself along the way.
So here's the scoop: Intern Ship isn’t your typical networking group. It’s Networking 2.0 — less awkward, more fun. Instead of those stiff, awkward meet-and-greets, we throw events that are actually fun. Think of it like a mix between a chill hangout and a mini adventure. One day, you might be uncovering hidden gems in your own neighborhood, and the next, you're unwinding at a wellness workshop that leaves you feeling recharged.
We’re all about keeping it a buck and balanced. We get that building your career is important, but so is taking care of your mind and body. That’s why every event we host is designed to help you not only level up professionally but also to have a good time, laugh a little, and maybe even discover a new favorite boba spot.
In a nutshell, Intern Ship is your go-to crew for turning everyday networking into something that's both fun and seriously rewarding. Ready to set sail on your next adventure? Let’s f***ing go!

Say Hello to Real Connections

Facts —being stuck behind screens all day is exhausting and, honestly, kind of lame. We’re all feeling the digital burnout, and it’s no wonder there’s a cool wave of change happening: social clubs, dinner parties, and meetups are popping up everywhere, and they’re giving us that much-needed dose of life and energy.
But if the idea of stepping into an IRL event makes you a little jittery, don’t sweat it—you’re definitely not alone. Here are some laid-back, no-nonsense tips to help you glide from the online world to real-world mingling, all while keeping it fun and genuine.
First, Gas You Up
Your external aura always starts with your internal state—so before you head out, fuel that inner fire. Blast your favorite energy-boosting playlist, wear something that makes you feel good, or give yourself a quick pep talk in the mirror; whatever lights you up. When you show up with that love for yourself, it naturally radiates on the outside, and we’re here for it!
Give Them More To Work With
Think of conversation like tossing a ball back and forth. When you reply, add a little extra detail or share a fun anecdote that gives your chat some extra flavor. This “conversational threading” keeps things interesting and makes it easy for everyone to jump in.

No Internship Yet? No Worries – Here Are 7 Moves to Level Up!
Hey bestie, if you haven’t landed that internship yet, don’t stress—it just hasn’t happened yet. There are still so many things you can do to continue building your story like:
Work on Projects
Instead of twiddling your thumbs, dive into projects that let your skills shine. Check out gigs on HomeFromCollege.com for real company projects or check out school clubs to work on their projects or workshops. It's a killer way to boost your work experience and prove you're proactive.

Finding Calm in a World of Storms
My dear students, many of you carry the weight of midterms, internship uncertainties, and new responsibilities. It is easy to feel overwhelmed, but do not let these challenges define you.
Strength and peace reside within. Knowledge is a gift, not a burden.
Approach learning with curiosity, not fear.
A single grade does not determine your worth—true wisdom is in perseverance and integrity. Study diligently, but do not neglect your well-being.
Take breaks, breathe, and remember that you are more than your accomplishments.
